Mahon’s staying behind for the ‘Stroid’s UK tour we reported earlier today because he’s got his hands full with his other, newer room full of drunks at The Green Rock Tavern, a corner bar he just bought up in New Portfishington. Earmark the Green Rock, we are told, for all of your Iggles needs, as well as a refurb’ed menu and, we hear, a CRAB NITE. Don’t be a tease, Jamie: Come through on this crab night thing. Last two times we tried to go to Bonk’s, shit was shuttered.
>>> And across town a bit, say a how-do-you-do to Paul Browning’s a-year-or-two-in-the-making Makers Local, in the about-to-break-wide-open 13th & Spring Garden environs. You may remember Browning from his stints behind the bar at Sam Adams Brewhouse/Standard Tap, as well as the R.E.M. fanclub. (He’s still a member!) Makers Local opened just yesterday, so do drop by and give Paul a hug for us.
