Food Blob: Break Free Pho The Chains

pho· Woe betide the unlucky sod who goes to 11th & Washington in search of the many-types-of-meat-on-a-stick emporium Porkie & Porky: You are too late — the joint closed. It has, however, been replaced by something called Pho Hoa, which is, believe it or not, a pho chain. · Looking to put your money where your mouth is on this whole casino thing? Tomorrow night (Tues., Oct. 9), Honey’s Sit N Eat in NoLibs is having the first of one of a series of “Sugar-Free Dinners,” so named for their opposition to SugarHouse Casino, not delicious sugar itself. Proceeds benefit the Northern Liberties Neighborhood Associations fight for casino re-site-ing, if indeed that is a word. [NoLibs.org]
· Congrats are in order to Johnny Brenda’s, who at long last have been granted a permit for outdoor seating — last weekend was their first of al fresco dining.
