It would seem that Girard Hotel aka Beer City Hotel — snidely named by locals after what is quite possibly one of the nastiest, grossest beer distributors in the city — got the gas face from the FNA. Says he:

167-13. That was the final tally when Fishtown neighbors voted on the Beer City Hotel proposal at Girard and Berks. To be clear: that’s 167 opposed, 13 in favor. (To be equally clear, even I voted against it.)

We know, we know: You really wanted Mom & Dad to be able to stay at a place that’s equidistant from Dunkin’ Donuts and Sulimay’s. But look on the bright side and scroll down: This also means that there will be no spinning Olive Garden spiraling vomit over the ‘hood as well.
