Irish Americans Greeted With Disgusting Brown Balls For St. Patrick’s Day

entenmans

When the Irish first came to America in the 1800′s, they were greeted with sneers, racism, violence and awful stereotypes that, as an Irish American, I can assure you are 100% true. Two hundred years later, the slights on our people are more subtle, but no less hurtful: Michael Flatley, for instance, and those awful — seriously, just absolutely horrendous — irish potato things. Perhaps in competition with the aforementioned “treat” are these Irish-themed Entenmann’s Holiday Popems. Complete with a leprechaun on the box, like some kind of Celtic Sambo. That’s it. I’ve had enough of this. I’m forwarding this link to Bono.

Perhaps you forgot to mention McDonald’s Shamrock Shake, which could possibly be more disgusting than Irish Potatoes. I don’t care to test the theory by trying either one ever again, though.

A “Celtic Sambo?” Bwahahaha! TOO FUNNY!

Well, at least Entenmann’s acknowledges your holiday. When are they gonna make some Passover-themed popems for us Jews? Where’s our package of fatty, sugary delights with an offensive, borderline racist cartoon on the package? I’m gonna fill out a comment card or something.
