The freeing of Nelson Mandela. The rally for John Sinclair. The vanquishing of the British in colonial America. It’s that kind of liberation that is in the air today, folks, because distinguished NON-racist/ANTI-xenophobe Joey Vento has been vindicated.
In a 2-1 vote, a Commission on Human Relations panel found that two signs at Geno’s Steaks telling customers, “This is America: WHEN ORDERING ‘PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH,’” do not violate the city’s Fair Practices Ordinance.
But it wasn’t an easy win:
In a dissenting opinion, Commissioner Joseph J. Centeno said he thought the signs did discourage some customers.
“The sign appeared immediately above another sign that had the following words: ‘Management Reserves the Right to Refuse Service,’” Centeno wrote.
The Commission, however, has already said that they won’t appeal the decision, probably for the same reasons we’re fed up with this: We’re tired of giving this jerk press.

It’s a petty point, given the transparency of the division between philebrity and phoodie, but I don’t believe you HAVE given Vento press here, as such.
(Or, perhaps, one post is enough to be tired of it. With which I wouldn’t argue.)
