Of Brazilian Super Fruits And Energy Drinks

zola Not sure if you noticed, but in select grocers‘ refrigerators around our city, there are little leopards peering out from the label of Zola, a new brand of “Brazilian Superfruit Juice.” True to that tag, it packs a wallop, due in no small part to the magic fruit acai, a.k.a “the next pomegranate.” It’s being touted by the media as an antioxidant powerhouse, and Zola is riding that tide as high as it can. With organic ingredients and natural caffeine, the drink is available in original, blueberry, and pineapple permutations. Blueberry’s all we’ve tried, and it’s appropriately tasty and invigorating but bears an aftertaste that takes some getting used to. Overall, though, it’s nice to have one more natural shot of energy, omegas, etc. to reach for, and who couldn’t love that doleful leopard? Bonus: You can make smoothies and cocktails with it.
