First Look: New Dining Room At The North Star Bar

There was a time, back in the early 90s — you were just a child, most likely — when Fairmount’s landmark North Star Bar was known as much for its food as it was for its music. Back in the day, the North Star introduced the city to zydeco, lots of present-day WXPN-fare, and as we remember it, it was also one of the first places we ever had one of those then-exotic, hard-to-find quesadillas. Since then, and certainly for the last few years, the music part of the NSB has really taken the driver’s seat, but that could be changing soon. Behold, the new 20′ x 23′ upstairs dining room (above where the bar is), decked out with 4 large windows, crown molding, tall ceilings and hardwood floors. We hear it’ll also be getting a new menu soon to match its stately, dignified vibe. More updates to come…
