Privé Take Me Away

With the ongoing trend of Indian and Asian fusion restaurants popping up left and right, along with the occasional gastro pub and contemporary Italian joint, it is good to see Privé bringing Philadelphia a fresh breeze of Mediterranean tapas, just in time for spring. Privé is owned by cousins Kick and Billy Lavdas and headed by Chef Peter Karapanangiotis. So here’s the scoop, located on 3rd and Market, Privé, is about two months away from their opening predicted at the end of May, with their liquor license already acquired. The interior is said to be a mixture of dark brown hardwood, and white Asian stone topped off with a crystal chandelier and decor from Italy and Greece ranging from the artwork to the bar stools. There will be an upstairs area complete with lounge that is said to be finished, as well as a downstairs seating area with a bar that is in it’s final stages as we speak. The staff is almost complete as well, and the rest is just working out the final details. As for the menu? It’s already been said that crab shooters with avocado slushee, and spicy bloody mary and mango sauces might be making appearances, but nothing has been disclosed as set in stone. Did someone say Bloody Mary? Count us in.
