The Greek Grub Club over here at Phoodie has an icy new friend this summer. We wanted our tub of Baklava Pagota Ice Krema, the new frozen dessert from the Greek Gods Yogurt peeps, to have real chunks of phyllo pastry in it, but this was not to be. Instead, the krema was a simple honey base with almonds, walnuts, and cinnamon, that mimicked the flavor of baklava itself. For those of you expecting a Haagen-Dazs experience, where they basically pack a handful of cookies or entire dessert tray into each of their pints and bomb it with heavy cream, this is not it. It’s also not a healthy frozen alternative and doesn’t even contain a trace of the yo. The rich-tasting and overpriced Greek Gods Ice Krema also comes in Chocolate Fig and Honey Pomegranate. According to Hippocrates, ice “livens the lifejuices and increases the well-being,” which alludes to how better at sex you are after ice cream. Don’t forget to spoon.
