Food Blob: Taco Loco

· Well, it’s official Cantina Dos Segundos — or, as we shall call it, Cantina 2: Electric Boogaloo — will be opening soon in the old Azure location at 931 N. Second in Northern Liberties. Helmed by Chef Mark McKinney, late of Pasion!, “Dos” will have “the most ambitious menu I have ever worked on,” says the chef. That means, for instance, Róbalo a la Plancha, a grilled bass fillet with Seville orange juice-serrano chile salsa, amaranth grains salad, and wild Mexican greens (quelite, huauzontle, amaranth) and Mole Amarillo con Pavo y Verduras – Oaxacan yellow mole with Eberly organic free range turkey, green beans, chayote, green and
yellow squash, white rice and grilled jalapeños. Plus, lots and lots of tequila.
· And on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, there’s Taco Bell. We always knew bad things could happen here, but being frozen in time was something that had never crossed our minds as a worst case scenario. [SeriousEats, video at right]
· Finally, the Comcast Cafeteria anxiously awaits a Mexican Post stall.
