Breaking: Garces Trounces Flay On Iron Chef

Hometown hero Jose Garces continues his world domination as he whips Bobby Flay’s ass on the popular Iron Chef America competition on the Food Network. The secret ingredient was melon, and the challenge was that one element of each dish had to be frozen. Brain Freeze, mofo’s.

Jose did an ‘Around The World With Melon’ presentation, creating 5 dishes featuring the fruit from 5 different countries. You can catch a replay of the battle on August 21 at 9PM.

Chef Garces won the battle — no doubt about it, and he deserved to with his exceptional combination and presentation. The compliments he received from the judges sounded like they were describing the dishes of an Iron Chef! And that evening I believe he definitely rose to that level! He was a chef on fire and with a mission and I think he probably was the best competitor we have seen for a while — I would love to see him challenge each and every one of the Iron Chefs — I think that would be a best seller! He truly is a champion!
But “trounces” and “whips Bobby’s ass” are two comments that are far from what happened — Chef Garces won by 1 point!
I don’t think I have seen another champion like Bobby Flay who takes defeat as graciously or victory as humbly as he does. He always pays the respect due to the other competitor in Iron Chef America or in his Throwdown series. So lets pay the same respect to Bobby for losing to another great chef — the competition could have gone either way with three judges and just 1 point separating both chefs.

I agree with the OP: Garces trounced Flay. I remember scratching my head over the final score, because the judges seemed to really favor Garces. Maybe they didn’t want to embarrass Flay.
