You’re Not Allowed To Know What John McCain Ate At The Devon Seafood Grill

jmcWhen we heard yesterday that embattled fetus lover/next president of the United States (to make us want to move to Canada) John McCain supped on Labor Day at the Devon Seafood Grill, the first thing we did was hit up their publicist to find out, you know, what winners eat. The dude was kind enough to supply us with a full description in short order, and just when we were getting around to pondering whether or not the Devon was the new Bookbinder’s — you know, the place where visiting heads of state go for oysters — we witnessed a full-on publicist freakout. Hey, be careful, he said, with that info! And finally, please don’t print it at all! Well, we aim to please; after all, we recently checked out the Devon, and it’s pretty great: Fresh, rotating in-season oyster menu from locales near and Pacific, a rather tempting Absinthe selection, utterly amazing crab cakes, and a tuna tartare you could die for. It’s good; make your parents take you. So, to be on the up and up, here is what we can tell you about McCain’s visit to the Devon on Monday:

“John McCain had an order of [TOP SECRET] and Fried [YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO KNOW] for dinner. The others in the party had the following: 2 orders of Maryland Style [REDACTED], Seared [GAG ORDER] and a Bowl of [DO YOU KNOW WHAT WE DO TO TRAITORS?]. The party split 2 bottles of [DON'T TREAD ON ME]. No desserts or coffee they were on a tight time schedule. He shook a lot of hands on the way out. One member of the party stepped into the kitchen to thank the cooks. John was right behind him and waved to everyone.”

Wow. It’s like he’s in office already!
