Le Beaujolais Nouveau est Arrivé!

We’re celebrating with the rest of the world today, vinostyle. With the recent boom of wine consumption and education in the U.S., we finally understand what the rest of the world already knew: This wine is basically crap. But it’s a reason for the world to party as one, which is truly important during the holidays. The economy is shit, the elections are over, now let’s get jacked on grapey swill.

Around the globe at 12:01 AM, we saw the release of the first bottles of the ’08 vintage, which appears to be one of the sloppiest in recent memory. After beasty 2000, 2003, and legendary 2005 vintages, we were due for some thin fruit. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t buy this wine. Because of the short vinification and bottling process, these wines don’t change much year-to-year. Always tasting of big raspberry fruit and smelling of bananas because of whole-berry maceration, Nouveau is an oddity that fights the convention of modern winemaking techniques.

The state is celebrating with us today at the Sofitel from 5-7PM with free wine tasting, and we already told you what Tria’s got poppin’. $13.99 gets you a bottle that does surprisingly well with your Thanksgiving meal.
