Sources are telling us — and Klein bears out — that Chef’s Market has closed their retail operation on South Street, remodeling the space and will have offices and catering run out of their South Street Location. For more than a year, 65% of the longstanding Phoodie valhalla’s total business was catering; they’d even opened another location to handle the extra preparations. With South Street sadly in a retail dead zone these days, it was no longer worth operating the retail portion and they’ve consolidating all catering to South St. We’ll miss ya, Chef’s Market!
