The Brett Pack consists of Adam Avery (Avery Brewing), Rob Tod (Allegash), Sam Calagione (Dogfish Head), Tomme Arthur (Port Brewing), and Vinnie Cilurzo (Russian River Brewing). It’s an All-Star lineup of epic proportions. Philly is blessed to have these Monsters Of Malt and Barley spending time here during Beer Week.

Curt Decker of Nodding Head and Tom Peters of Monk’s found a way to get them all in the same place at the same time (except Vinnie, who is in Cali training a new brewer). We were lucky enough to sneak a peek and share some beer with these brilliant gentlemen. Topping it all off was the appearance of John Maier, Rogue Brewing’s brewmaster who showed up with tastings of Old Crustacean that was more than 15 years old. Quite an afternoon and evening. Each brewer brought sixtels of really rare stuff, many of which were mad scientist projects, or crazy curveballs of flavor.
