Stephen Starr’s Tent Event: Not Just For Car Buyers And College Grads

mann-logo-firecrackerThe Mann Center For Performing Arts and, that’s right you guessed it, Stephen Starr are teaming up to bring concertgoers a top-notch culinary experience. Crescendo is set to open with the first show of the season, June 5th, which happens to be David Byrne.

Crescendo, then, will be Philadelphia’s first tented restaurant and hopefully won’t remind diners of being at a graduation party or a Toyotathon tent event. Executive Chef Shane Cash will feature fresh carved meats and fish, innovative antipasto and salad dishes, savory and sweet tapas, and fresh bread from Starr’s Parc restaurant. Ticket holders will also be able to reserve picnic baskets to enjoy on the lawn. There will be a full service bar with signature cocktails for those who customarily enjoy live music while lightly (or heavily) sauced. A $45/person three-course tasting menu will also be available.

The menu at Crescendo will change regularly and will be inspired by the artists. We are all wondering if they will be serving anything special for David Byrne, who just finished up the European leg of his tour with a quick jaunt through the Italian countryside where he visited Italy’s #1 restaurant (#13 worldwide), Osteria Francescana. Hopefully Chef Cash won’t serve anything David “Byrnt.”
