
Now, we’ve never been shy about the exalted place the Bloody Mary holds in the Phoodie.info Pantheon of Very Necessary Beverages, so this post shouldn’t exactly come as a surprise, but nevertheless, behold a new twist on our old IV bag: The Green Tomato Bloody Mary at The Swift Half, which just opened at The Piazza At Schmidt’s. One of our Phoodie spies encountered one of these babies over the weekend, and here’s what she told us:
“It’s sweeter than the usual Bloodys,” she said, “but that contrasts nicely with the horseradish. Definitely not as thick as a regular bloody, either — more refreshing, less heavy and no threat of a the bartender using a mix. No Worcestershire, too, which makes it vegetarian.” It’s 9 bucks but — and this is key — “It tasted… clean,” she said.
