In Philly highball news, the annual MojitoFEST will be taking place on Wednesday, June 17, at G Lounge. This year’s attendees will be able to sample 15 brands of rum, either straight up, on the rocks, or mixed-in with minty goodness. If that ain’t enough, the Mojito Olympics, a rum-soaked battle royale where local bartenders compete by testing their mixing and muddling skills for the coveted title of best mojito-making bar in the city, will also be taking place during the (we know this from experience) shit-faced proceedings. Bartenders from G Lounge, Mixto, The Moshulu, Cuba Libre, Valanni and Rum Bar are expected to compete for the abovementioned title and be judged by NBC10′s Mac Francis, Wired 96.5′s G-N Kang, and Foobooz’s Arthur Etchells, among others.

MojitoFEST, Wed., June 17, G Lounge, 111 S. 17th Street. Doors open at 7 p.m., with general admission going for $35-$75.
