Summer At Snackbar

snackbar_location_pa02Rittenhouse Square’s snappy Snackbar is attempting to stand out from that area’s crowded restaurant scene by serving a new pan-European summer menu with everything from pierogies to steak frites. Highlighting new small plate dishes and updated favorites, as well as entrees priced under $22, it sounds worth checking out to us. Some of the noteworthy smaller dishes:

· Mache Salad with radish, prima donna and black olive-walnut vinaigrette ($7.00)
· Potato Pierogies with crème fraiche and caviar ($8.00)
· Steamed Mussels with Andouille sausage and preserved lemon ($12.00)
· Snackbar Shrimp Cocktail with honeydew, pickled cucumber and Old Bay vinaigrette ($9.00)
· Margherita Flatbread ($14.00)
· Brussel Sprouts have been updated with truffles and marcona almonds ($8.00)
· “Breakfast Burger” with sharp cheddar, bacon and a fried egg ($14.00)

Larger dishes include:
· Lamb Spareribs with orange, fennel and mint ($16.00)
· Red Snapper with rice, bok choy and miso beurre blanc ($18.00)
· Steak Frites with grilled flatiron, caramelized shallots and thyme French fries ($22.00)

You can wash it all down with a traditional sparkling wine and peach puree Bellini or a Shiso-Lemongrass Caipahrina made with Cachaca Shiso, lemongrass and lime.

Have you tried any of these yet? What did you think?

ive had the breakfast burger. it was good but the fried egg was sunny side up, making my burger very soggy. Break the yoke and then fry, please.
