St. Jean Baptiste Day At Grey Lodge

grey-lodge
Tomorrow, the citizens of Quebec will get paid to take the day off and celebrate St. Jean Baptiste Day (which now goes by its secular name, the National Holiday of Quebec). Will there be heated talk of secession this year? Will it stay secular, or will it get religious again? Or will there be another “Quiet Revolution” like back in the ’60s, complete with rioting? Yeah, it’s probably safer just to stay here in Philly: While you might not get a paid holiday, that shouldn’t stop you from swinging by the Grey Lodge in Northeast Philly after work, where you can enjoy their special St. Jean Baptiste Day dinner menu. Serving French-Canadian style poutine (French fries with brown gravy and cheddar cheese curds), pork and beans made with maple syrup, and a pork-based version of the traditional brisket-based Montreal smoked meat sandwich, the menu will only be enhanced by the presence of bottled Unibroue beer (which also goes into making the poutine gravy). Sounds like a recipe for a good time to us.

Yeah well the whole fucking point of the quiet revolution is that they didn’t riot. ALso it was against the Catholic church because it controlled everything. So you know, it’s not bound to happen again considering as was mentionned, Quebec has become secular. Who do you have behind this event, some lame montreal hipster from mile-end who thinks he knows shit about quebec?

And you use beer in your poutine gravy? Gross. I don’t think you should dare call anything that was made there a poutine.

Also it’s not a smoked meat sandwich if you’re not actually using smoked beef. Smoked in the proper traditional fashion.

Will they firebomb more rowhouses in Philly this year? Who knows?(Did that sound ignorant? Oh….)

Even in the middle of a riot, Montreal’s still a lot safer than Philadelphia.

    Lame.
