Having spent the past year envying NYC’s iconic Treats Truck and the way it distributes its delicious baked goods like an ice cream truck (but being too proud to admit it), we were happy/relieved to read that Philly’s finally getting a snackwagon of our own. It’s about time! Buttercream, the bakery run out of Philly Kitchen Share, has taken an old mail truck and converted it into a cupcake-dispensing, cupcake-resembling road machine. According to the Cupcake Truck’s Twitter account, this week’s appearances will be limited to promotional events, but regular rounds around the city are in the plans afterward. This Friday will apparently be Free Cupcake Day at “select small business locations.” We’re not sure exactly where those locations will be (or if the free cupcakes will be limited to employees of the small businesses themselves), but hopefully that Twitter account will give more info as the date approaches.
