After months of waiting, Jose Garces‘ new spot, Village Whiskey, sets a date to opens its doors: Mark your calendars and pick out your outfits now, for you have plans on September 3.
Village Whiskey takes a step away from Latin food, as Garces embraces the trend that is currently all the rage in his native Chicagoland: Old fashioned cocktails, lotsa whiskey and affordable, simple bar food, which means that this need not be a special occasion destination. Instead, it could be your new local. (A local that might well be competing heavily with, say, The Franklin Mortgage & Investment Co.?)
