Late Saturday night a horrible accident occurred at one of our favorite places of like ever. A couple who was hanging out on a fire escape behind Monk’s bar fell four stories to the ground. The man died, and the woman, as of now is in critical condition.
Owner and friend Fergie Carey said that nothing of the sort has happened in the 12 year existence of Monk’s. “There were bodies in the alley”, Carey remarked.
Both of Monk’s proprietors, Carey and Tom Peters, are not the owners of the apartments where the accident occurred. Apparently the building was not up to code and broke numerous violations, but Carey mentioned he believed the building’s owner did try to keep the place in shape.
