Adam Richman, host of the Travel Channel's Man v. Food, with a pizza

Adam Richman is the Travel Channel‘s conquistador. In his show Man v. Food the “Man” (Adam) is typically the victor, but as the nature of warfare goes, he loses some battles. Most notably is this video of Adam struggling and sweating his way through the Don Juan El Taco Grande challenge (seven tacos) at the Juan in a Million Restaurant, Austin, TX. As Adam waves his white napkin over his head in surrender, the restaurant owner offers consolation, “Out of the thousand people who tried it, only four people have done more than you.”

Tonight on the Travel Channel, Adam takes on The Ultimate Cheesesteak Challenge at Tony Luke’s. Adam’s objective in Man v. Food, besides describing intergral elements of the fabric and tapestry of an American city, is to experience both quality and quantity. That includes unbridled gorging on five pounds of grade-c beef. Airs tonight at 10PM EST.
