The Center City Wine School is officially open. Keith Wallace (The Wine School of Philadelphia and the Main Line Wine School) has partnered up with Jason and Delphone Evenchik (Time and Vintage Restaurants) and they are here to let you know just why the grapes that constitute an Oregon Pinot Noir are so noble, and what makes one Barolo more tantalizing than another. They promise a “no frills, and oft-irreverant approach” to the classroom setting. Perhaps that can explain why one of their classes is titled the “Sommelier Smackdown” ($61.99 tuition). For the gingerly and shy, you can take “Wine 101: Intro to Wine” for a modest $37.99. Class schedules are held at Time Restaurant (1315 Sansom) and can be found on the Wine School’s website.
[Full disclosure: Phoodie.info contrubitor Collin Flatt is an instructor for the Wine School. He did not contribute to this post. He was, as usual, too drunk to type.]
