This just in: Jolly’s Dueling Piano Bar is slated to hold a Grand Re-Opening on October 30th. The Dueling Piano Sing-A-Long has roots go that back to New Orleans during the Great Depression, when fun needed to be as cheap and raucous as possible. Jolly’s carries on this tradition today by featuring two local pianists – Anthony “Tony T” DeCarolis and “Wildman Joe” Marchetti – who will square off every Tuesday through Saturday night, playing audience requests (but please, PLEASE, not Billy Joel). Jolly’s also boasts a great small-plate menu from Executive Chef Brendan Smith, as well as specialty cocktails including the Sweet Caroline, a nod to the dueling pianos’ southern heritage made with sweet tea vodka and fresh lemonade and the Black Widow, a mojito mixed with fresh raspberries and blackberries. Doors open at 3, but the fun really begins at 8 when the show starts – we recommend you get there early in order to snag a good seat before the place gets packed, which it tends to do. Who cares if Wall Street is claiming that the recession is over? This is a bar where you can still party like its 1933 (or 2008 for that matter).
