Perennial Philadlephia favorite The Royal Tavern is turning seven years old! Which is good news for everyone involved, because it is damned hard to beat the atmosphere, drink selection, not to mention the burgers in that place. What can we say? We love it. So we are tickled to get word today that they will be holding a 7th Anniversary Bash next month, on November 17th from 11:30am-2am, with DJs, drink specials and party favors. But wait – it gets better. Over the last seven years, Royal Tavern has offered an unbelievable 4,712 blackboard specials in addition to their regular menu items, and for their birthday they want to know which ones you loved the most. Have you been dreaming about a special from last week or last year? Well, here’s your chance – you have between now and November 8th to fill out a ballot at the Tavern to vote for your all-time favorite menu item. Starting Wednesday, November 11th, a top-vote-getter will be revealed and served daily, culminating with the #1 menu item’s unveiling on the 17th. So what are you waiting for? Are you serious?? The Royal’s food has been a shit show for the last five of those years. My request is that they hire whoever it was that ran the kitchen when they first opened.
