Back in August, John Strain stepped up to become Executive Chef of Valanni, filling the awfully large shoes of former Exec Chef Evan Turney, who had moved on to head Varga Bar full time. We got word today that Strain has officially debuted his new Fall Menu, highlights of which are listed below:
- Short Rib Flatbread with red wine-braised shortribs, roasted mushrooms, and manchego
- Lamb Lollipops with butternut puree and spiced walnuts
- Seared Bronzino with spiced fingerling potatoes and tomato confit
- Roasted Butternut Squash Salad with baby arugula, crispy parsnip, toasted squash seeds, and honey cumin vinaigrette
- Vegan Flatbread with white beans, carmelized onions, olives, fennel and sundried tomatoes
As always, the menu still features a well balanced mixture of Latin and Mediterranean cuisines, including our personal favorite home-made sangria. An added bonus: with its focus on smaller plates, as well as reasonably priced tasting menus – Sunday, Monday and Tuesday features a $30 prix fixe – a tapas-and-wine-filled night out won’t break the bank.
