Non-Douchebag Places To Watch The World Series

4033104738_0a4a01c7a6When you’re a non-douchebag sportsfan, it can be challenging to get your Black Taco on at a bar without being surrounded by a roomful of choads. So we’ve compiled a list of great establishments that have deals on food and beers you can enjoy without the typical sportsbar atmosphere:

  • The Abbaye offers a $3 Rowhouse Reds special.
  • The best deals are at The Institute, with all drafts for $3, bottles of Miller Lite for $2, and shots of Jim Beam for $2.50. As for food, their Pork Fries, Boneless Wings, Regular Wings are priced at $5 an order and $2 off any sandwich. (Game 5 won’t have this offer available because it falls on Insti-Tuesdays, check out their site for details.)
  • The Belgian Cafe continues their special they had during the playoffs of $3 pints of Pils. You can also pre-game it there with their Bosteels Event at 7pm. The cafe is hosting Lanny Hoff of Artisanal Imports with Triple Karmeliet and Kwak on draft and DeuS by bottle and a menu pairing.
  • Also continuing their playoffs offer, The Devil’s Den special is $1 off Yards, PBC (most likely Kenzinger), and Spatzen brews.
  • For Thursday’s game, Swift Half is holding a Philly vs. New York brewery showdown including Flying Fish, Yards, SlyFox and more.
  • PYT has a $25 special that is 8oz venison patty topped with foie gras served with sweet potato chips and a sparkler. What?

It should be noted that all of these specials are valid during the actual games. Got other recommends for non-douchebars World Series-ing? Leave ‘em in the comments!

The biggest choad seems to be the douchebag who wrote this article. Go forbid you associate with the 5 million people outside of your little inbred social circle.

    PYT is pretty damn douchey.

I find the assertion that there are not douchebags at PYT pretty hilarious.

SPTR’s a good place to catch a game. Caught both parts of last year’s final at Cantina by Passyunk.

Also add me to those amused that PYT is somehow considered “non-douche.” If you look at the EEG readout, you’ll see Kade and Up are actually on resoundingly similar psychic wavelengths.

National Mechanics has happy hour specials thoughout the series during the games, $1 off most pints (except lagers), $3 off most pitchers and $6 National Burgers and Veggie Burgers!
