For the month of November on Mondays-Fridays before 6:30PM (but hey, by that time it’s proper dinner time in France), you can sample Bistrot La Minette‘s three-course meal for $25 ($35 if you want wine). Some of the traditional French bistrot plates by chef/owner Peter Woolsey include: Crème de Chou-fleu (cauliflower soup, potatoes and parsley oil) or Salade Lyonaise (poached egg, potatoes, lardoons, frisée); Cabillaud au Beurre Blanc (seared filet of cod with white wine butter sauce, roasted apples and broccoli) or Confit de Canard (preserved duck leg, haricot verts, pearl onions, potatoes) and a choice of desserts, either Gâteau au Chocolat (a decadent chocolate cake served with raspberry coulis and vanilla ice cream) or Glaces et Sorbets (a selection of house-made sorbets and ice creams). Bonus for those who can pronounce that whole paragraph.
Bistrot La Minette, 623 S. 6th Street (between South and Bainbridge Streets) 215.925.8000.
