This Whiskey Festival Totally Unlike The One That Went On At Your House Last Weekend

whiskeyfestOK, let’s see… what happens when the PLCB and Philly Mag walk into a bar? (Ah, it’s almost too easy.) The Sixth Annual Whiskey Festival, but of course. This year the event will be held at the ever so fancy schmancy Union League.

It will run you $85 in advance; at the door, it’s $95. Throw in another $50 for a designated driver provided by the festival and you’re one swanky Thursday night celebrant. Why not just grab a taxi or walk off that drunkness? We suppose it’s worth mentioning at this moment that ticket proceeds will benefit SafeHome.

What do you get with all this cash you’re spending? Take a look at the spirits list here, which boasts over 150 premium and super-premium Scotch, Single Malts, Bourbon, Whiskey, Cognac, Tequila, Gin, Rum and Vodka all for your tasting. Industry reps and master distillers will be in attendence and hors d’oeuvres supplied by Village Whiskey, Tavern on Broad and The Capital Grille will coat your tummy and compliment all those liquors you’ve been tasting.

The bad news for some of you (slobs) is that the Union League dress code stands in effect for this event. But really, we’re sure you’re hoping and anticipating that, with the price tags and all. If you got the money, you’ll get drunk for a good cause and we’re sure you clean up real nice.

The Sixth Annual Philadelphia Whiskey Festival, Thursday, November 12 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Union League of Philadelphia, 140 South Broad Street. Tickets are $85 in advance and $95 at the door, with designated driver tickets available for $50 at the door. Tickets may be purchased online at www.phillymag.com/whiskeyfest or by calling 800.595.4TIX.
