Thanks to seeing a tweet by industrious Twitterererer JovanB, we’ve just learned that Philadelphia is apparently set to receive its first Pinkberry not-exactly-natural fro-yo shack, as denoted by a “swirling soon” status on Pinkberry’s website. The little piece inside of us that still lives in 2007 just rejoiced a little bit. In the heady days of the mid-‘90s, we Philadelphians might’ve compared ourselves to the rest of America’s metropolises by the number of perceived-as-hip chain food purveyors could get early in the game. But now, do we really want NYC’s hand-me-downs? Sure, Pinkberry, since your cachet has faded, just sweep into town on your quest for national domination. We’ll probably even check you out when we’re feeling a little, um, diet-y. Just don’t expect us to stay loyal when Red Mango eventually sets up shop and your brand’s shiny new luster has faded here, too.
