Although we’re a little sad that NoLibs upstart Koo Zee Doo didn’t make the transition from semi-finalist to finalist, Philly is still well-represented on the list of 2010 James Beard Foundation Awards finalists. Hot on the heels of winning the 2009 Phoodie Award for Best New Restaurant, Bibou is nominated in the same category of the JBF Awards. The ever-controversial Stephen Starr is up for Outstanding Restaurateur. Vetri (the restaurant) is in the running for Outstanding Service. And fighting it out head-to-head for the Philly love in the category of Best Chef: Mid Atlantic are Zahav’s Michael Solomonov and Osteria’s Jeff Michaud (mega-tough call, but we’re tentatively going to say “advantage: Michael” on that one). The full list of nominees is available at the JBF site here. The winners will be announced on May 2nd and 3rd.
