Crisis At The Spice Corner

Several readers have reported that The Spice Corner, a 30-year veteran of the Italian Market and self-proclaimed largest spicery in Pennsylvania, is currently closed, displaying a sign that a problem between them and the city led to the closure. It appears that this has been going on for a few months already, and customers are starting to get antsy. We gave them a call and weren’t able to find out much besides that there is no known reopening date yet. What’s the deal with the closure? What’s the bad blood between The Spice Corner and City Hall? If you’ve heard anything, let us know in the comments.

There was, about a month ago, a sign in the window indicating that Spice Corner had been operating without a license. Which is a total bummer and a bunch of nonsense. Love love love that shop.
