Ever since we signed up to vote in the “World’s Sexiest Vegan” contest (we were young, it was the “in” thing to do), the people over at PETA have taken it upon themselves to inform us about all kinds of things. The latest? Lima Pizza of Media are allegedly using glue traps to kill mice. And that does not make mice nor PETA very happy. Now, animal cruelty debate aside, we can’t help but realize that this email poses some important questions: Clearly this establishment has some rodents, so does PETA need to kick ‘em while they’re down and inform thousands of said problem? Marketing mice and pizza has only worked in the restaurant business once, and that combination has only seemed to ulitimately infuriate adults. Is it ethical of PETA to be going after small businesses like Lima, when surely, there are bigger fish to fry? More importantly, though: Who in Media is so concerned about these mice, in this specific pizza joint, that they need to tattle to PETA? (In our mind, it’s a teenage goth. It has to be. Or at least someone with the soul of teenage goth.) However, we have a suggestion to Lima that we think will not only appease PETA but also fix their rodent problem: Mouse Trap!

As one who was raised in what was “Everybody’s Home Town” (and is now “The World’s First Fair Trade Town” or some such nonsense), I take offense to PETA picking on our hometown lil’ guy. But I also take offense to people eating at Lima Pizza when they could be eating at Little Anthony or Pinocchio’s. However, I do not take offense to Pinocchio’s website’s claim (and almost definite lie) that they were “recognized as the first pizzeria in the Delaware County area more than fifty years ago!”
I really dislike…ok…hate PETA and would almost go to this place to eat just to spite them if

a. It were closer
b. Didn’t have a mouse problem
