If there is something better than stock footage of American flags waving juxtaposed with kabobs on a flaming grill and a “Best of Philly” logo, we don’t wanna know what it is. But real talk: Has anyone been to Kabobeesh at 42nd and Chestnut? We think we need to check this place out.

It’s excellent. The best South Asian in West Philly for sure. Nice and spicy.
I love Kabobeesh and Lamb Chops, or most of the time I get something quick to go like
Chicken Curry, with great rice and chick peas or spinach with potato’s. It’s two full meals in one for about $11.00
Of that style of food, I’ve never tasted better.
Wow this place is delicious, and also supercheap.
Really great, really cheap, and the people who work there are also really nice.
Excellent kofta. When they have it. All of the sides are always well-spiced.
Many, many mouse turds all over the napkin-dispensing/extra-forks area. But the food was fabu.
Yes! This is a very good place.
Where did you find that commercial?!
Best South Asian place in Philly. A Pakistani friend recommended it to me, and I’ve never been disappointed!
It’s a great place. I recall seeing a different TV commercial for Kabobeesh years ago… Does WYBE still do a Bollywood movies and music video block on weekends? That’s where I saw their commercial before.
not to be crude, but when a joint has a minimum of four taxis parked outside at all times (literally), ya know it’s gotta be good.
Most of the kabobs are the best around, and on weekends, there are specialty dishes like nehari that should not be missed.
Good food, but way too greasy.
If I’m not mistaken, there used to be another one on Cecil B. Moore off of Temple’s campus a couple of years ago before the monstrosity that is Avenue North started blocking out the sun for neighbors nearby.
Always outstanding food there. I recall the big stone oven that was in the middle of the kitchen.
Yes people have been to Kabobeesh. All of you fake Philly foodies constantly neglect West Philly and at like you’ve got the “scoop” each time you talk about an old west philly spot. We’ve got Abyssinia, Ethio Cafe, Kaffa Crossing, Fiume, Vietnam Cafe, Fu-wah, Saad’s, Dahlak, Local 44 the list goes on. Use Daddy’s credit card and take a trip out of Northern Liberty’s fake plastic neighborhood once in awhile. There are more places to eat than bar ferdinand and el camino real.
The owners live in Devon and leave their van parked in the driveway (next to a taxi cab).
