Yet Another Entry Into The Great Steak Debate: FOOD WARS

The Travel Channel, which you either can’t afford to get, or can afford to get but never watch, is coming to South Philly this weekend to film a cheesesteak episode of its mano-a-mano food fight show Food Wars. We’re hearing the tentative schedule is filming on Friday at Pat’s and at Tony Luke’s on Saturday to get general footage of the storied establishments, and no doubt to document the sundry and sometimes scary denizens among us who consider steaks to be better than half of the food pyramid. Sunday is when the big rumble actually does down at Chickie’s & Pete’s, presumably to avoid home court advantage. The big match on Sunday is supposedly open to the public –spoiler risks about the winner and champ-een aside- so if you’re in the neighborhood, it might be a spectacle worth stopping by to see. And not for nothin’, Cute-Boy-Alert-Worthy Drew Lazor of City Paper fame will be one of the judges, AND more-sultry-and-much-less-shrill-than-Rachel-Ray Camille Ford is the host of Food Wars, so there’s at least the possibility of catching some (famous?) eye candy wit wiz all over their faces.
