The PLCB has gotten itself into a lawsuit with restaurant owners who are joining together with the Washington Square West Civic Association and State Rep. Babette Josephs to sue the board for allowing a wine boutique in Garces Trading Company. All those involved, which include owners from Le Bec Fin, Tria, Lolita, Fergie’s and Caribou Cafe, feel the PLCB is favoring Garces over other restaurants, giving him unfair advantage. Considering this is the first wine boutique the PLCB has allowed in a restaurant, we can’t help but see their point. However, the lawsuit is strictly against the PLCB, not Jose Garces or Garces Trading Company. The lawsuit is likely be filed before the week is out in the Court of Common Pleas.
