Philly’s getting its very own Crocodile (see reptilian brethren: The Alligator Lounge in Williamsburg, The Crocodile Lounge in Gramercy and in Chicago’s Wicker Park) in Old City. The bar’s gimmick is simple: Buy any beer and get a free personal pizza. The PLCB‘s gimmick is a little weirder: The Crocodile strictly isn’t allowed to advertise the deal. So we’ll talk about it here. We’ve been to the one in Gramercy and it’s great midday, ‘cos it’s not crowded at all. The pizza is just pizza, but it’s free, so just pile on the crushed red pepper and be happy. Our Croc will have Sly Fox, Flying Fish and Yards on tap, as well as bottles of Victory and Stoudt’s. It’ll also have a lounge-y upstairs called WetBar where you can get cocktails. The free pizza starts this Friday, but shhh, you didn’t hear it from us.
