You’ll be able to find The Cornerstone Market‘s old digs in a new spot on Frankford and Columbia. Brownstoner reports that Fishtown Jewelers’ owners Tom Vaughn and his wife have purchased the market’s furnishings for a new bread and cheese shop. The store is said to open in about six months. No word on if the ghosts of Bulgarian feta past will haunt the new shop.

Stephen Starr’s Fishtown Bier Garten (which got a lot of buzz around here for a bit then kind of went dark) hopes to open in late October but infrastructure problems (oh, Fishtown) may delay the project, Philly Mag reports.

I don’t know why anyone is upset that Cornerstone is out of business. They never had what you wanted when you wanted. There was stale bread every time. Overpriced and aging produce. I never knew if what I was getting would be good.
It’s a shame for a small business to close, but they did this to themselves. I tried to give them business, but they had totally unreliable products.
