Hey, anybody remember this stuff? For a time, in the late 1980s, Clearly Canadian was the very height of soda-fying luxury, a status symbol on par with one of those t-shirts that changed colors. The “flavoured sweet sparkling water” preceded the whole high-end-ish beverage market by years, and while it’s still in production, we couldn’t find anyone around the office who’d tasted one in years. (Although we remember it is a fresh blast of light berry flavor, that was years ago; it could be that the stuff is as sickly sweet as anything else out there today.) Blame it on the market’s expansion, sure, but also blame it on the bottle. Clearly Canadian hasn’t looked that good in years; but then again, neither have Jams.
