Boozehound: On the Trail of the Rare, the Obscure, and the Overrated in Spirits is part spirits history, part adventures in drinking, and part recipe collection. Jason Wilson, who writes the spirits column for the Washington Post, tells of his travels while writing about, well, booze. Though he lives in New Jersey and teaches writing at Drexel, Wilson has traveled the globe in search of the obscure and tasty, as well as the common and overrated. Everything from Jagermeister to Chartreuse and Peruvian pisco, Wilson tells of his experiences seeking out such liquors and their production methods. Traveling to places like Mexico and the French Alps, Wilson helps us to understand what, and why, we drink what we do.

Accompanying his drinking adventures, are more than 50 drink recipes which include 3 different ways to make a Manhattan. Wilson’s boozey knowledge is showcased in Boozehound, along with his sense of humor and craving to travel. Pick up Boozehound, available September 21, and enjoy it with a good drink. Or five.
