We were excited to ride by this corner yesterday to see the lights on and Christmas lights twinkling, and a big grand opening banner over the front awning of Colosseo, a new brick-oven pizzeria at 15th & Spring Garden. The space was previously a diner-ish spot that never seemed to be open. Now it’s a busy little brick oven pizzeria, great for a casual dinner! The new business has brightened an otherwise semi-desolate corner, which we always love to see.
The inside is bright and comfortable, with lots of tables for dining. They have excellent pizza available by the slice, as well as other Italian dishes, pastas and sandwiches. They’ve got gelato for dessert as well! Woot!

I can’t take it anymore. enough with the exclamation points.
Also, that’s the fourth pizzeria on that block (and only two blocks from osteria). the neighborhood really could have used something else…perhaps an actually healthy option for dinner?
Did you even try this place? First off, the pizza is awful, just about as awful as the 3 other pizza places on the square block! Secondly, this is NOT BRICK OVEN PIZZA. It is literally a standard pizza oven inside of a brick enclave. Please don’t promote this place, it’s as shameful as the rest of the pizza on this block, which I sadly live on.
