For the first time ever, The Khyber Pass Pub
will be throwing a Kentucky Derby Party. This Saturday, May 7th, from 11AM until 2AM, the Khyber will be offering southern-inspired cuisine, a live broadcast of the Derby and music from the Al Harrison Dixieland Band. Primed for a full day of activities, the pub will offer a pre-race lunch until 2:30, some Derby-themed contests and giveaways, and the band will play from 4-6PM. The Derby itself starts at 5PM and there will be celebratory drinks, a dinner, pies and nightcaps afterward. The day is also going to feature the debut of Philly’s first Frozen Mint Julep and several other rye and bourbon cocktails. The kitchen will cook up some dishes like Burgoo, Benedectine and Bourbon Balls, among plenty of others.
