You know, most people unveil their chocolate treats before Halloween, but next Wednesday, Jose Garces‘ JG Domestic (2929 Arch Street) will debut their new chocolate bars. Made in partnership with Éclat Chocolates, the bars will be of the dark, milk, and white chocolate variety, and will sell for $8 each. The four chocolate bars are:
Marcona Almond with Pimentón de la Vera – roasted Spanish almonds and Chef Garces’ favorite spice, smoked Paprika, enrobed in rich dark chocolate
Porcini & Thyme – delicate white chocolate infused with earthy porcini powder and fresh organic thyme
Mole Amarillo – creamy milk chocolate with a piquant blend of peppers and roasted sesame seeds
Cafe con Leche – smooth milk chocolate blended with Chef Garces’ signature Reserva artisanal coffee
The bars will be debuted at a $55, five-course dinner at JG Domestic hosted by Garces and Éclat Chocolate master chocolatier Christopher Curtin that will feature a chocolate bar paired with the courses of the meal. Starting after the dinner, the bars can be purchased at the Garces Coffee Kiosk at the Cira Centre, as well as Garces Trading Company (1111 Locust Street) and online.
