Slow Food Philadelphia is the local chapter of the slow food movement, founded in 1989 to counteract, “fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the foods they consume, where it comes from, how it tastes, and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.”
On Monday, November 14th from 7PM to 9PM, SFP is presenting the Snail Of Approval launch, a “grand food, wine, and beer celebration recognizing restaurants, caterers, and food markets/co-ops that promote good, clean, fair food in our area.” The event takes place at Reading Terminal Market‘s Center Court. The Snail of Approval an endorsement of a restaurant, co-op, caterer, etc. from SFP that says they operate in the spirit of what SFP preaches. The launch event will be $30 with proceeds benefiting A Thousand Gardens In Africa, Urban Tree Connection, and CATA The Farmworker Support Committee.
The launch event will feature food and drink from:
Philadelphia Brewing Company
DiBruno Brothers
The Restaurant School
Feast Your Eyes Gourmet Catering
Earth – Bread + Brewery
and many more
