We mentioned Nice Things Handmade in a post before about their fabulous beer cozies. We failed to mention that while we were there, we noticed these amazing paintings of cheese! They’re painted by local artist, Mike Geno and he has a show tomorrow for First Friday. Mike Geno is an adjunct faculty member at Moore College of Art, is famous for paintings of raw pork chops and bacon. But his more recent cheese paintings will make your mouth water, with their beautiful color, shadows and textures. Bring your cheese connoisseur friends and try to guess what kinds of cheese they are. The opening is tomorrow from 5pm-8pm at Wedge and Fig at 160 N. Third Street. Apparently his paintings sold like hotcakes over the holidays, so you should definitely go check it out early if you’re interested in buying a print. They’re usually around $40.
