On September 15, 1787, a farewell party was thrown in George Washington’s honor at Philadelphia’s own City Tavern (138 South 2nd Street). And today, on President’s Day, we figured why not share the bill/menu for the event with you. There was music, 55 gentlemen, 16 servants, and “7 Large Bowels of Punch.” So, you know, shit probably got crazy.
