It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year: Pierogi Week

All shall bow before the mighty Pierogi. The oft-under-appreciated polish treat is getting the respect it deserves at Green Rock Tavern (2546 E. Lehigh Ave.) between Feb. 26 and March 4 when they celebrate Pierogi Week.

The pierogi, which has a stronghold in the river wards, will be showing off its versatility during this week with, “unique flavors like … pork, peanut butter and Nutella pierogies, [and] more common styles like potato and cheese and sauerkraut pierogies.”

In addition, “During Pierogi Week, patrons will be able to take advantage of a $10 special featuring a heaping serving of pierogies, potatoes,” and a pint of PBC beer. And at this year’s event, Green Rock is introducting the Pierogi Hoagie, “an intense combination of foods: pierogies, kielbasa, kraut, potatoes and more. The sandwich will weigh in at a few pounds.”

In all, pierogi week will feature 12 varieties of pierogi, so why not stop by and try them all?
