Jose Gaces‘ tapas bar Amada (217-219 Chestnut Street) may be known for its share-able meals, but on March 25th, the goal will be offering customers a solo feast. The restaurant will be hosting two seatings of $55, all-you-can-eat Cochinillo Asado (roasted whole suckling pig).
The whole pig has never before been available to groups smaller than four, and always required a 72-hour advance order, but not on the 25th. So how do you take advantage of this? As a press release says:
Reservations are required for this very special meal, and will be held with a credit card; cancellations with less than 24 hours notice are subject to a cancellation fee. Guests can choose from $55 per person, plus tax and 20% gratuity for food only or $75 per person, plus tax and 20% gratuity for food and bottomless red and white sangria. The restaurant will host two seatings: 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The entire restaurant will be reserved exclusively for this indulgent feast.
The whole meal includes, “a first course of Ensalada Verde, green salad with fava beans and avocado; Tortilla EspaƱola, Spanish potato and egg cake with saffron aioli; and Chorizo a la Planxa, grilled skewers of Spanish sausage, followed by: Roasted Suckling Pig.” Additional servings of suckling pig will be available throughout the seating.
We’re getting hungry already just from writing that, and we can almost … almost already smell it.
